In the wake of Synod 2024 many churches, officebearers, and members across the Christian Reformed Church find themselves facing an ever more uncertain future.

A salvation issue, simply, is a matter that has bearing on one’s salvation. Recently, when we talk about salvation issues in the CRC, the topics engaged have to do with human behavior–both habitual practices and the disposition of the heart.

The polarizing forces within our culture, even found within our sanctuaries, are undeniable.

We exist to help the congregations engage in a center-set posture.

As we expand our reach to leaders, pastors, and churches who seek a way to build unity across differences for the sake of Gospel mission, we thought it might be helpful to explain where this concept came from.

In many ways, this layered nature is reflected in this continued conversations about the complex challenges that face the church. While the CRCNA may have sought out clarity around the confessional nature of chastity - simply declaring it so does not detangle the complex nature of this important dialogue. It can’t. Because sexuality, among other challenges that local congregations face, is not simple.
