An Invitation to Pray

Hi Friend,

Thank you for continuing to join us in a time of discerning prayer as we reflect on

Synod 2023 and look ahead to what lies ahead for the Christian Reformed denomination in 2024.

Please join us in praying in the following ways:

  • Let's be in prayer for many churches that are struggling with the impending sense that confessional status may become an issue where leaders and congregations would be forced to leave the denomination. These churches are having difficult conversations with members, looking at possible options, and praying that some sense of unity will be restored in the denomination. Pray for the Spirit to provide guidance and discernment to these churches.

  • The Council of Delegates will be meeting next week in Grand Rapids. Pray for a special anointing of the Spirit upon this group for the ministry issues that need to be discussed and decided.  Pray for an unbelievable spirit of unity among the delegates that could be a spark for the same unity in our denomination.

  • The Better Together Steering Team will be meeting again in October by zoom to discern how they can be helpful to the churches during this time. Pray that they will hear about a grant approval which will provide financial resources to be more responsive. Pray for the Spirit to lead them in discerning other ways to help be a network for the churches regarding different communications.

Better Together is extending an invitation to join in prayer on the second Tuesday of the month at noon for a listening prayer time led by Chris Rea. This prayer time will be by zoom and is open for anyone to join.

Here is the Zoom link for that meeting on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10 NOON EST:
