A Prayer of Confusion
Today, you’re invited to join us in this prayer of lament and confusion written by Marja Fledderus of Ancaster, Ontario specifically for Better Together.
Please join us in praying:
What is going on, God?
Everywhere I turn there is another conversation to have about
brokenness
division
middle ground
hard lines.
I run into walls I didn’t even know were there.
From all sides I feel trapped and buffeted.
I trust in you,
and I trust in your plans,
but I am pretty tired of walking on eggshells
and defending myself,
or defending you,
or trying to help everyone just get along.
Not my job, I know.
But where is the road that lies between
trying to control things outside of my control
and giving up and not doing anything at all?
That narrow, winding road,
that disappears around another bend
as soon as I get a glimpse of it.
You know that road, Lord.
Help me walk it.
May your love ever be my companion,
your mercy my guide.
